Where to start..you will need.. a c20xe engine loom ecu starter motor..you can use the getrag manta 5 speed box and propshaft, or you could use the r25 gearbox from a carlton, seen lots of people doing it this way now as they are easier to get hold of but more work to make them fit as they are massive compared to the manta box.. my exhaust is a SBD manifold connected to a custom made ashley exhaust.. the most expensive bit is getting a manta sump and oil pick up pipe, they go for big money £300-£400 these days.. manta engine mounts, again expensive to buy genuine manta ones..
Depends what you mean by doing a cheap conversion..it will cost around £1200-£1500+ to do a redtop conversion..cheap power ??
I really give my car some stick on track days and the engine is just so reliable and sounds real nice when nailing it, guessing its pushing 180ish bhp, goes like stink but the fun part is surprising more modern hot hatches with its ratty look and dented panels drivers just don't expect it to go so well..
